Mika Tanaka
Lead Waifu Reviewer
I review anime AI companions for a living, which is a sentence my younger self watching late-night anime would have loved. I came to this from the fan side — years of visual novels, dating sims, and character-driven roleplay — so I judge these apps less on raw tech specs and more on whether the character actually feels like someone I'd want to keep talking to at 1am.
When I test an app I push the archetypes hard: I want to see if a yandere can be genuinely unsettling without breaking, if a kuudere thaws at a believable pace, and whether the anime art generator can hold a consistent face across a whole photo set instead of redrawing a new girl every time. I write down where things charmed me and where the immersion snapped — usually the moment a paywall pops mid-confession — and I keep both in the review.
